The "Mas des Nabières" is located in the district of Saint-Martial, high in the Rieutord's Valley where this river takes its rise, facing the médiéval village (a bit more than one kilometer far). Starting from Ganges (witch is at 45 minutes from Montpellier and one hour from Nîmes), going direction of Sumène, you are enterring cevenne's group of mountains, through the Rieutord's valley following the river. The road is still large but the mountains are surrounding you. You cross Sumène and make your way through the mountains, in direction of Saint-Martial, the magic of the scenary will be, since now, rooted forever in your heart. St. Martial is at the end of this small road, going first through "Sanissac".

Three valleys are composing the viganais county : the valley "de l"Arre", the one of "Valleraugue" and the valley of the Rieutord ("l'Arre" and "Rieutord" are two rivers, Valleraugue is a small touristical town)
The valley of "l'Arre" : around Le Vigan (40 minutes from the Mas des Nabières)(a small subprefecture of the Gard), and in the villages nearby, you will discover the smooth way of live of the southern Cévennes. The touristical circuits borrow roads maintained but often very narrow and make you discover typicals "Cévenols" villages.
Valleraugue and the neighborings : 45 minutes from the Mas des Nabières. Wild Nature, rich in various animals and végétals preserved species, terrace cultivation, chestnut grove. This valley, where upper, the river "l'Hérault" is nothing more but a mountain's torrent, propose you multiple facets to discover. The forest and the mountain of the Mount-Aigoual (celebrated by André Chamson, author and académician native from this country side), the transhumance (feast in mid-June on the slopes and grasslands of the Espérou) mark strongly the landscape. Bike any land, baignad, fishing, or snow sports (Alpin ski, cross-country skiing), trekking following the "drailles" (paths through the mountain) of the transhumance, all the seasons offer you their siutables pleasures.
The valley of the Rieutord : is to be discovored at any season. Spring, when the herds of sheeps transhumants are ringing, in the fall when the mountain blaze. The landscapes in terraces shaped by men during the ages, the bridges of stones that span the rivers, the narrow roads to mountainside, the dark and hot colour of schist, the austere beauty of this valley are like a gift to a moment of eternity.
A preserved and remote valley, also close to more traditional pleasures for your holydays : many markets with local products, Museums : Cévenol Museum, Museum of silk, Natural sites : Circus of Navacelle, Abyss of Bramabiau, Caves of the "Demoiselles"; Nautical activities in the gorges of the river Hérault.
